Membership

Members

The HCRDA was launched in December 2020 with representation from 16 member firms. Current membership is over 70 firms having grown steadily over the last three years. Members include larger and smaller manufacturers, and service sector firms. A target for 2024 of 90 members has been set by the EXCO. We look forward to welcoming these new members.

Furthermore the HCRDA is continuously developing a directory of locally owned SMMEs operating in the region and working to increase engagement and commercial relationships between its members and these smaller, locally black-owned firms.

The HCRDA welcomes membership enquiries from firms with operations in the Outer West Durban and those with an interest in supporting our objectives.

About membership

The vision of the HCRDA is to advance Hammarsdale and Cato Ridge as a desirable place to invest, work and live, thereby supporting growth, employment and transformation.

In support of this vision we ask you to consider membership.

Support of the activities of the HCRDA will deliver significant improvements in the local operating environment for the benefit of all those that live and work here.

How to maximise benefit

For maximum benefit from HCRDA membership we recommend that firms:

  • Communicate: Highlight challenges and opportunities to secure support. The HCRDA is member-led and exists to respond to members’ needs in pursuit of its vision.

  • Align strategies: Review HCRDA strategic focus areas and identify which are common to the firm’s own strategic priorities.

  • Align operations: Review HCRDA plans and identify key upcoming activities of potential benefit.

  • Participate: Allocate responsible parties for each strategic focus area so the firm is positioned to obtain maximum benefit from relevant activities.

  • Provide direction: Participate in workstreams activities so experiences and interests are represented.
